One of the most speculated and anticipated new features for WhatsApp in 2022 seems to finally be starting to be released in Brazil, in this final stretch of the year.
Meta has introduced a free tool that will allow you to search for companies and, in the future, close purchases within your app.
The feature, called “Directory”, has started to be released only for Android users (there is no forecast for iOS yet) and basically consists of using the search to locate nearby companies, without having to leave the application.
According to the General Director of WhatsApp in Brazil, Guilherme fusion database Horn, the option to make payments directly on the chat screen will soon be released.
The tool initially aims to bring local businesses closer together. At this stage, as you can see in the image above, categories such as restaurants, snack bars, grocery stores, clothing stores and automotive services are already available in a first version.
How it will work
After selecting the category and searching, you will be able to choose the establishment and add the desired items from the store catalog to the “shopping cart”.
Once the product selection is complete, the items are sent to the store via a WhatsApp chat message. The company will receive a notification and can validate the items, editing the order if necessary, with the shipping cost or a discount.
At this point, after this step, simply arrange the payment method and delivery location for the products directly in the chat.
Payment system
The payment system is not yet available in Brazil, however, during the event where the new feature was presented, WhatsApp gave a sample of how the system will work.
After completing the order, the user can include the delivery address and payment method directly in the application.
