In 2025, it will be necessary to pay a tourist tax not only when staying in hotels and inns, but also in sanatoriums. Such an amendment was proposed to be introduced into the Tax Code at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Budget, writes Parlamentskaya Gazeta.
How does the tourist tax work: it will replace the resort tax from 2025. It will not be paid directly by tourists, but by organizations or entrepreneurs who provide accommodation services - the tax will be included in the cost of staying at the hotel. It must be paid by companies that are included in the federal register of accommodation facilities.
The tourist tax can be introduced by the authorities of all subjects. They will gcash database determine the rate independently, but it cannot be higher than the one established by law. In 2025, it is 1%, then it can increase every year.
What will happen to sanatoriums: they usually provide a comprehensive service, that is, not only accommodation, but also food, treatment and rehabilitation, so it is impossible to determine how much a hotel stay costs separately. Because of this, senators have proposed making a minimum tax rate for sanatoriums - 100 rubles per night, but the final decision has not yet been made.
Additionally, the Federation Council proposed requiring health resorts to indicate the cost of accommodation for calculating the tax base.
What else was proposed in the Federation Council : the obligation to pay a tourist tax may be extended to guest houses. Currently, they are not included in the federal register, but a bill that will correct this situation is under consideration in the State Duma. It is expected to be adopted by the end of 2024.
