The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has announced the results of its 2015 EC market survey!

On June 14th, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced the results of its "2015 Infrastructure Development for the Information and Service-Oriented Japan's Information Economic Society" (market survey on electronic commerce). The survey results looked at the state of Japan's electronic commerce market and market trends for cross-border electronic commerce between Japan, the United States and China.
Based on these results, we have compiled a summary of how the size of the domestic and cross-border e-commerce markets has changed since 2014.



The domestic EC market continued to expand last year
Last year, in 2015, the size of the domestic BtoC market was belarus whatsapp data 13.8 trillion yen, up 7.6% from the previous year (Figure 1).
In addition, the size of the domestic BtoB-EC (inter-company electronic W commerce) market also expanded, with narrowly defined BtoB-EC expanding to 203 trillion yen (up 3.5% from the previous year) and broadly defined BtoB-EC expanding to 288 trillion yen (up 3.0% from the previous year).

The e-commerce rate (the percentage of all commercial transactions that are electronic commerce) is on the rise: 4.75% for BtoC-EC (up 0.38 points from the previous year), 19.2% for narrowly defined BtoB-EC (up 0.7 points from the previous year), and 27.3% for broadly defined BtoB-EC (up 0.8 points from the previous year).
