Alberto Parrado is just starting his career as a Digital Marketer and, despite being an intern, already has a lot of responsibilities at the RODANET agency. Discover how his interest in digital marketing began and how it has shaped his professional future in the following interview.
What did you want to do when you were a student?
The truth is that I've never been very clear about what I wanted to do. I've always wanted to study something related to film, but it's something I still have pending.
What were your first jobs like?
I'm still young and don't have much work experience, but luckily, all the jobs I've had have been quite enjoyable and varied.
I worked for a few months as an uruguay mobile database administrator and managing orders at an eyewear retailer, completed an internship for the Advanced Telecommunications Degree as a technician, and also spent six months as a Logistics Operator at Decathlon. Now I'm fortunate enough to be at Rodanet learning about SEO.
When did you start getting interested in digital marketing?
It wasn't until I started my master's degree that I became interested in Digital Marketing. I've always loved technology and everything related to the digital world, but I've never had a particular interest in marketing until I attended the first classes and saw how broad and fascinating it was.
What caught your attention most about International Marketing as a school?
The first thing that caught my attention was the variety of courses, postgraduate degrees, and master's degrees offered, but it wasn't until I visited the center in Barcelona that I decided.
I really liked the methodology they used throughout the course, and the fact that the teachers were active was very interesting. I learned a lot from them.
What do you like most about what you learned in the Master's in Digital Marketing and Ecommerce ?
Without a doubt, the best part of the master's degree has been getting a fairly clear and general idea of how each branch of Digital Marketing works, that not all marketing requires creativity, and that both SEO and SEM are what really interest me.
I like to finish the master's degree with a solid foundation in all the subjects I've taken so that, at the very least, I'll have a place to start if I want to launch a project or work in a related field.
