Engaging Young People with History through AR Experiences

In order to educate people to remember history, the Alabama Tourism Bureau created the "American Civil Rights Trail" project in 2004 and launched a book of the same name. Recently, the official added a WebAR experience to the latest version of the book, aiming to attract more young readers to learn about the key moments and outstanding figures in the American civil rights movement.

After scanning, lifelike photos and videos will pop up on the phone screen, using augmented reality to show readers major historical events in the development of American civil rights and the deeds of outstanding people who fought for equal rights.
