Do you already know Alto Mail? AOL's modern bet to compete in the email industry
Remember AOL? In the puberty of the modern Internet, AOL became a widely used option for establishing Internet connections on the American continent.

From the nineties to today
America Online was a favorite tool for many home computers in freight forwarders brokers email lists late 1990s and early 2000s.

At that time, the AMERICA ONLINE mail service made its attempt to penetrate the rest of the American continent after having a great boom in the United States , driven by the platform and Internet connection services of the same English-speaking company.

However, although AOL was able to boast of having a wide penetration in the continent at the turn of the millennium, the growth of Hotmail, Yahoo and later Google caused it to drift, remaining a preferred service in the United States and, of course, still having penetration today with the Hispanic market within the same country.

Alto Mail, AOL's bet for the 21st century
In 2016, AOL had no qualms about wanting to continue competing in the email industry, and launched (in a way that seemed completely anonymous to many) the Alto Mail service.

Alto Mail is, nothing more, nothing less, a new mobile app to manage your emails on iOS and Android. As is already a trend, it even has support for third-party platforms, such as Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud and AOL Mail itself.

In broad terms, Alto Mail covers the basics of what email apps require today. Conversations are stored in threads or message queues, and the app's inbox itself offers different ways to view them.

It's not all a rehash , though . Alto Mail can scan your inbox and give you intelligent details of emails that have to do with shipping, payments, flights – it's similar to what Gmail's Inbox does, but the interesting thing is that it can do it with any email you host within the app.

How to choose the right metric for each email marketing campaign
Although it is not all that spectacular, it is interesting to see how Alto Mail emerges as an AOL proposal for not giving up in this field. It still has many (quite a few things) to improve, such as the synchronization of your email aliases, as it still has some areas of opportunity in this field (to give an example).
