To accelerate its actions towards a low-carbon society and respond to the climate emergency , JCDecaux is unveiling its Group-wide Climate Strategy, revised by EY following a pilot in France in 2021. The strategy aims to align with the objectives of the Paris Agreement (limiting the increase in global average temperature to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels) and to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2050, taking into account the company’s entire value chain.

To achieve this, JCDecaux plans to follow a Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) trajectory, based on scientific data. The Group has already submitted a commitment letter to the SBTi by el salvador phone number data the end of 2022 and has been rated “Committed” , demonstrating that it is committed to a low-carbon strategy. During 2023, JCDecaux plans to submit its reduction trajectory to the SBTi for review and validation.

The path to Net Zero Carbon by 2050 will be full of intermediate stages
Goals for 2030:
reduce emissions from areas ( market-based ) by at least 60% compared to 2019.
Reduce Scope 3 emissions by at least 46% compared to 2019.
Goals for 2050:
reduce emissions from areas( market-based ) by at least
90% compared to 2019.
reduce Scope 3 emissions by at least 90% compared to 2019.
A Climate Strategy is based on 3 complementary levers: Measure, Reduce and Contribute
1- Measure and report permanently

JCDecaux measures its greenhouse gas emissions taking into account the three emission scopes defined by the GHG ( Greenhouse Gas Protocol ) protocol. In 2022, JCDecaux's total carbon footprint was 210.4 Kteq CO 2 (scopes 1, 2 and 3), a reduction of 27.1% compared to 2019.
