So, download the available material and come with me to learn about the new calculation in Power BI that will make your work much easier.
Introducing the Database
For this class, we will use a database with the sales history of a fictitious company.
database
From this base, we will build our analyses.
Accumulated Calculation – Old Method
Prior to this update, which I will show you how to activate shortly, the method for calculating accumulated values required complex formulas.
Let's create a matrix in the reports tab, with the years and month names in the rows and the revenue in the values.
Headquarters
With this, we will have our matrix displaying sales revenue over the years and months. If we wanted to calculate the accumulated month by month , before this new visual calculation option, we would need to use a more complex formula .
Note that this is a formula that uses several functions to achieve the desired result. However, with visual calculations, this has now become much easier and more efficient.
