How has Printful grown during your leadership? What key milestones and achievements are you particularly proud of?

Another major milestone on our journey was becoming a $1 billion unicorn. As a technology company with Latvian roots, we are extremely proud to be the first Latvian-based company to achieve this status. While Printful is headquartered in the United States, a significant portion of our operations and team are based in Latvia. This country, known for its innovative spirit and tech-savvy population, has contributed to our success. Achieving unicorn status as a Latvian company is a testament to our commitment to excellence and the impact we have made in the technology sector.


These milestones and achievements reflect the dedication and hard work loan data of the entire Printful team. We are proud of our journey so far and remain committed to pushing the boundaries, providing exceptional service, and supporting businesses of all sizes to thrive in the ever-evolving ecommerce landscape.

Printful was originally focused on the SMB market; why did it shift focus to enterprise as well?
Saltonstall: Printful’s initial focus was primarily on serving small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). However, over the past few years, we’ve seen a significant shift in our client base. Large brands have increasingly sought out Printful, attracted by the quality of our production and the consistent global availability of our services. This organic growth led us to explore the needs of these larger brands and understand why they chose Printful.

As we worked with these large brands, we realized they had broader requirements and were looking for services we could provide, but we weren’t yet experts in them. This segment of our business was growing rapidly, which prompted us to evaluate how we could excel at an enterprise level. We were faced with a choice: invest 2 to 3 years building the necessary capabilities ourselves, or find the right partner who already excelled in these areas. After careful consideration, we decided to look for a partner who could complement our strengths and expand our offering.

That’s when we discovered Snow Commerce. We had been working with Snow Commerce for four years and they were one of our largest customers. They specialized in running owned and operated e-commerce sites for major brands, leveraging their expertise in understanding their fan base, creating compelling experiences, and selecting the right apparel assortment. By combining Snow Commerce’s front-end capabilities with Printful’s back-end expertise, we could create a comprehensive solution that would truly excel at serving the world’s largest brands.

The acquisition of Snow Commerce has enabled us to effectively deliver a complete offering to a broader client base. By integrating their strengths with ours, we could deliver exceptional e-commerce solutions to businesses. This strategic move has not only expanded our capabilities, but also positioned us as a leader in the enterprise-grade market.

The shift to a business focus was driven by the natural evolution of our client base and the realization that we could better serve the needs of large brands by partnering with industry experts. This acquisition allows us to offer comprehensive and effective solutions to businesses while benefiting our smaller clients by leveraging the expertise gained through this partnership.

We are excited about this new chapter and the opportunities it brings to further enhance our services and support businesses of all sizes in their e-commerce endeavors.
