Inbound vs. outbound marketing

What is outbound marketing?
It is no wonder that when people think of advertising or marketing, most people outside the industry think of practices associated with outbound marketing. Until recently, it was essentially the only way to promote products and services. It represents methods by which companies try to acquire customers who are not directly looking for their products. Just like merchants in traditional markets, companies do not wait for customers to stop by their "stand", but they "start a conversation" with the audience or send a message to attract their attention.

Examples include billboards, television, radio, and print advertising, along with demonstrations and telephone sales. But they also include some paid online advertising and unsolicited email marketing. Whether it’s a more traditional or digital targeting method, the advertisers’ goal remains the same. They hope to capture enough of the targeted audience to become their customers. We are surrounded by advertising messages every day, but we often don’t ask for them or even want them. But that doesn’t mean outbound marketing doesn’t yield any results.

What is inbound marketing?
If a person who does not blindly trust everything that is offered to them is looking for something, and on instagram database their way to their goal they are pushed by certain content created by someone who could satisfy their need, this is inbound marketing. It includes SEO (= search engine optimization = a process whose purpose is to move a website higher in search results), personalized campaigns on social networks, thematic blogs, e-books, webinars or podcasts.

What is (or is not) inbound marketing better at?
Compared to outbound marketing, it is a somewhat more ethical and less intrusive way of reaching potential customers. In addition, it is much easier and more effective to convince those who have already expressed interest than to try to attract a mass of people who are not interested in the product or service offered. Many also appreciate it more when they learn about the product in a way other than through traditional advertising. Inbound marketing is not free, but it is definitely cheaper than expensive advertising in the media or on billboards.
