Branding : “I have always put a lot of effort into branding and experience. From the beginning, pink has been the center of attention, because it stands out. “When we opened in Knokke, we had bright pink shopping bags, and people on the street started asking where they came from. This allowed us to attract new people to our store without much effort.”
The person behind the brand : “I use social media where I show my experiences as a 26-year-old entrepreneur. I try to distinguish between my Clouds of Fashion and personal accounts. I really try to tell my story, also through weekly blogs, where I try to create a realistic picture of what is happening in my life.
Service and experience : “When people buy something from student data us, they get a ticket with the message ‘If you post something on social media, tag us’. And every month we choose a ‘Happy Clouds of Fashion Girl’ who gets a €100 voucher. If the customer advertises for you in this way, it’s the best advertising you can have.
Events : We organize several events: Late Night Shopping, Clouds of Fashion Shows, Major Closetsale with Jani TV and big store openings, like in Ghent. Although some events are not profitable, we notice that we sell a lot more afterwards.
Press & Media : “We have PR managers who manage our online and offline press relations. They send out press releases and ensure that Clouds of Fashion is regularly in the press so that we can reach as many people as possible.

Maximilian Devloo is Channel Manager, BeLux & France at Lightspeed, and founder of MDware, a Lightspeed partner. This is much faster than manual invoicing and saves you a lot of time in your administration. You can also store subsequent payments and (partial) packing slips there. No more separate programs and no more overtyping. MDware is also working hard on the transition from invoicing to accounting, and will soon launch a new, more comprehensive integration into accounting software.
