And finally, the Regulatory Sandbox itself for those who want to undertake and for those who are undertaking, who can envision possibilities of bringing innovations or identifying what is being done abroad and that may have relevance to the Brazilian market, but also things that are under observation, that are happening here and that can be very well used. Fundamentally, this should be the monitoring.
You said we responded very well. What were the lessons learned?
We had a boost mainly in changing habits . There are more and more digital financial services, we had an absurd movement even at Caixa, which ends up being an open door even for those who have never used digital financial services.
One of the lessons was, in fact, having a shortcut to the use of digital financial services like we had never seen before. Another aspect is that everyone thought the fintech market would be hurt, but we gained namibia mobile database investment attraction, there were record M&A in the sector in 2020 in Brazil. The sector emerged stronger due to the change in habits and also due to the regulatory changes, in addition to the arrival of PIX.
The pandemic has shown that there is no way out, we already experience digital financial services and they will be increasingly present in people's lives, coming from the most different places — from banks to fintechs , retail companies, etc.
There is a lot of speculation about cryptocurrencies these days. How do you see this process? What will become popular in Brazil? What innovations could occur?
I have seen Bitcoin as a store of value and a place where investors are going, especially when we look at the context of crazy money printing that we have had in recent times. Obviously, Bitcoin is used a lot as a gateway for various scammers, but I still see Bitcoin more focused on speculative cases aimed at investments.
When we look at blockchain technology , there is that hype , overestimating the potential, especially in 2017, but things have started to stabilize. I still think there is a lot to be done, both in terms of programmable money, but looking at other practical applications, I focus a lot on tokenization, which is even accelerating and taking shape with Sandbox environments , especially the CVM. I already know of some projects that focus on asset tokenization, which are applying for their places in the CVM Sandbox .
So, I think there is a lot of room for it, which can help to reduce market costs and facilitate ownership and transparency, even within a fractional reality. All of this ends up merging with other instruments that we have today.
What do you think the lessons learned from the pandemic were?
