Half of Spaniards use eAdministration

The percentage of citizens who interacted with public administration electronically in our country stands at 50%, two percentage points higher than the European Union average , according to Eurostat data.

Spain also leads the European ranking regarding open data policies.

Cybersecurity, on everyone's lips
In Spain, 64.2% of Internet users have experienced some kind of security incident . The most common, by far, is spam (86.4% of home users), followed by malware (24.9%) and denial of service (12.5%).

One of the fastest-growing attack vectors in recent years is ransomware, the type of attack that had the greatest impact in 2017. In 2016, the CCN-CERT handled 2,030 incidents of phone number library various types of ransomware in Spain, 375% more than in 2015.

Instant messaging remains the preferred channel for communicating with friends and family, despite slowing its growth and failing to reach the entire population.

New habits are also being observed in this area: not only are plain text and emoticons the default way to communicate in these applications, but audiovisual formats are also becoming more common: 30.8% of users send voice messages; a practice more common among women (36%) than men (25.3%).
