How far has SGE progressed?
While SGE is still in its experimental phase, users can try it out and use it to perform searches on Google. (More on how to enable SGE later.)
Initially, the Google Labs website indicated that the SGE experiment would end in December 2023. However, Google recently updated the SGE homepage but removed the experiment's end date from the website.
Does this mean Google will soon release SGE into the wild? Or will Google shut it down?
The source of these rumors comes from a Google blog post announcing two new AI-powered features overseas chinese worldwide database . At the end of the post, Elizabeth Reid, VP of Search, wrote the following statement:
We have received a lot of useful feedback from people who chose to participate in this experiment, and we will continue to offer SGE as a testbed for bold new ideas in Labs.
The words “ we will continue to offer SGE in Labs as a test environment for bold new ideas ” are what sparked the rumors and debates.
Ross Hudgens, CEO of Siege Media, shared a detailed post about what he thinks Google is trying to say with these exact words.
