Oleksandr Komarov: "I don't see a horizon right now when 5G will be implemented in Ukraine"

The future of 5th generation communications in Ukraine is still vague. As Oleksandr Komarov noted: “ I don’t see a horizon now when the 5th generation of communications will be introduced in Ukraine .” Firstly, today only 1.5% of the total smartphone base supports 5G technology. Although by 2025, according to the forecast, this figure will increase to 25%. Secondly, 5G requires very dense construction of sites, in fact, transmitters are placed even on lampposts. The most popular frequencies for 5G will be 700 MHz , which will provide the maximum coverage radius, and 3500 MHz - for areas with a high subscriber density. Moreover, experimental work is still underway on the 700 MHz spectrum.
