Miquel Rodrigo, new Commercial Director of Claranet Spain

Miquel Rodrigo Serret has recently joined Claranet Spain as the new Commercial Director. Miquel has extensive experience in the ICT sector. In 1994, he launched the first Virtual Fair on the Internet for Catalan companies such as Freixenet from the ICTA (Catalan Institute of Applied Telematics, part of the Generalitat de Catalunya). Between 1995 and 1999, he held responsibilities in the commercial area at Lisot, and carried out programming, systems administration and telecommunications tasks in the technical area. Between 1999 and 2003, he led the development and Commercial Management of Datagrama (acquired by Jazztel in 2003), managing a sales team of 7 people in Barcelona and Madrid, with the acquisition of clients such as Fnac, ING Direct and ya.com. As well as achieving a turnover of €3.6M in 2003.
From 2003 to 2009 he led the Development and brazil telegram data Commercial Management of Acens (acquired by Grupo Telefónica in 2011) in Catalonia, developing responsibilities such as the deployment of Connectivity and MPLS Network services nationwide, or the Development of the Distribution Channel and opening of an office in Valencia. During this stage he was Regional Director in Catalonia, managing a sales team of 10 people, and 7 in the Distribution Channel at a national level. Notable clients in this stage include Aguas de Barcelona, Grupo Planeta, HP, Yell or Reyal-Urbis, achieving a turnover of €8M. In his last stage he was Commercial and Marketing Director at Gnuine, a company specialising in RoR programming and Internet systems administration, highlighting the achievement of projects such as FC Barcelona (New Portal and Amazon.com administration), Atrápalo, Derecho, TV3 or Generalitat de Catalunya.

Miquel Rodrigo is a Telecommunications Engineer from the UPC. He is a Project Manager in Applied Telematics from the ICTA and holds an MBA from EAE and a Master in Commercial Management and Sales Force from CESDE.
