There are three types of website development:
On a constructor (for example, on Tilda).
Based on a ready-made solution (you can select a template on various marketplaces: 1C-BITRIX , WordPress ).
Writing code from scratch, exclusive design.
We have already written about websites on constructors whatsapp database in our blog in the article "Tilda Website Builder: Good or Evil". Now we will talk about the last two development options.
What to choose, what are the pros and cons of each option, we will tell you about this now.
Website development based on a template solution
In essence, you are buying a ready-made product that has:
design and color scheme designer;
adaptive layout;
settings for displaying blocks;
structure of headings with the ability to edit it;
programmed feedback forms;
designed and programmed internal pages of the site “about the company”, “services”, “catalog”, etc.;
ready-made functionality for filters, order basket.
The key word here is "ready". In 99% of cases, the template will need to be redesigned to suit the specifics and structure of your business. If you need a regular, corporate website with several pages, there will be a minimum of redesigns. If we are talking about an online store, then in almost 100% of cases, significant revision will be required.
For example, you will need to change:
structure of the product display, cards;
catalog search filters;
order basket;
ordering process.
You will also need to connect delivery services, Internet acquiring, and change a lot of other things that are not in the template, but are required for business.
Don't have any illusions and take a template site for a complex project in order to spend less. The cost of template modifications may ultimately equal the cost of developing a site from scratch.
But there are also advantages to a ready-made solution. No need to think about what and where to place, what structure to come up with. We take, choose, change the content, launch. You get a resource with an adaptive design quickly and at a low price.
Ready-made solutions can be beautiful, they can sell well, but for this you will need to pay extra to add a touch of exclusivity to the template design, work with usability, not forgetting, of course, about the content.
Using template sites is often justified:
For niche sites or online stores whose products:
- are easy to order (select - add to cart - send request);
For simple sites, for example, for any company in the service sector, where there is no product catalog or there is a catalog, but it is very simple, small, understandable, without integration with 1C.
For projects at the first launch stage, when you want to check the demand for the product and test the general scheme of work, without being completely sure that the project will take place.
What to choose, exclusive or template website development?
