On my 500 gigabytes of disk, about 400 are taken up by MP3s. And I'm talking about just one disk. When it comes to music, I'm a typical hoarder. I collect a ton of it, and then discover new albums a few months later. If at all. Instead of getting to know something new and interesting, I'm stuck with old, tried-and-true records.
I feel like that's changed with Spotify . I find it easier to find new music now, and as a result, I give it a chance more often. Especially since I'm more certain that it'll be to my taste.
In the past, to discover a really interesting album, I had to do a lot of clicking. Reviewers of leading asia rcs data magazines in Poland rarely recommend something in my style. I am practically unable to point out any good strictly music service in Poland (do you know any?), so it is also difficult this way. I do not want to browse the huge number of local and foreign websites, since no one has recommended a given editorial office to me as reliable reviewers.
Even the web-based last.fm, which at first seems like the answer to the aforementioned problems, is problematic. 30-second samples are too short for me. I like to jump through different parts of songs and albums to get to know them (do you have that too?). Say what you want, but searching for each artist one by one on YouTube is not very convenient. Or maybe I'm just lazy, but I console myself that there are more like that.
Spotify is changing me
