Educate, Entertain, and Present: Diverse Content to Attract Your Target Audience on LinkedIn

Post by ujjal22 »

When creating content for your LinkedIn page, the main thing to consider is the purpose of your content. It will likely be one of three things, or perhaps a combination of them.

Educate
Amuse
Pitching

Before you create your content, it's important to know what chinese singapore phone number list angle you're going for so you can best tailor your content to what you want to achieve.

If you're trying to educate, you'll want to provide solid facts and make sure your sources are credible. If you're trying to educate, you might be writing advice, a list of tips, your own experiences that you've learned from, a how-to, or more

When it comes to entertainment, you'll probably want to keep your content casual, fun, and original! Here you can tell a story, share a meme, a comic, a joke or skit, or anything else along those lines.

Are you trying to pitch? This is where you’ll want to use all your sales skills to create content that encourages your audience to take action. In this case, you might be trying to get your audience to sign up for a webinar, contact you, visit your website, sign up for a newsletter, or purchase a product or service.

However, when writing content and deciding on a purpose, be aware of your audience and what they want to see. Have a variety of content that you post. If you are constantly posting offers, your audience will definitely get bored and may stop following you. No one wants ads popping up in their feed all the time!

Even though all your educational content can also bore your audience. Even if your information is clear and relevant, this is not a classroom. Your audience probably won’t want to absorb all of this information multiple times a week. They can only handle so much!

Having all your content entertaining can also be a turn-off. While it's a fun break from the usual presentations and educational content all over LinkedIn, if that's all you post, your audience may start to wonder if you have anything important to say.

The key, as always, is balance.

We recommend posting 80% educational and entertaining content, with only 20% dedicated to presentations. In this sense, if you post 10 times a month, post an offer only twice a month. This is the best way to keep your audience engaged with your content no matter what you post. Few people will mind a pitch if it’s rare enough! We’re all entrepreneurs here.

How should I create content?

One of our favorite tactics is using ethos, pathos, and logos in your content.

Ethos

This concerns your credibility.
Convince your audience by convincing them that you are reliable and trustworthy, you know what you are talking about!
You can do this using;
Shows your resources
Providing truthful statistics
Tag an important or well-known person who agrees with your points – make sure it’s okay to tag them!

Pathos

This refers to the emotions you evoke.
Convince your audience by appealing to their emotions, eliciting an emotional response from them through your content
You can do this using;
Presenting an inspiring story
Sad story presentation
It prompts them to recall a past memory
Presentation of a related story
logos

This is about the logic you are using
Convince your audience by convincing them that your solution or advice is reasonable and logical
You can do this using;
Providing truthful statistics
Shows your resources
Providing tables or graphs
Case study presentation

When you consider the type of content you create and add across these three aspects, your content will ultimately be more effective. If you’re not sure what type of content to create, try all three! It’s important to keep your content on LinkedIn diverse to ensure your audience doesn’t get bored and to ensure you’re reaching a wider audience who will all appreciate and resonate with different types of content.

Creating content isn’t always easy. You may still feel lost or overwhelmed about how to proceed or what to create. Don’t worry!
