The computer kills television

Post by sakib60 »

In a short time, the changes have been dramatic: between 2016 and 2017, the proportion of viewers watching television programs on television sets fell from 52% to 23%, while those watching on computers increased from 32% to 42%.

In Spain, although television continues to dominate, smartphones are making strong inroads, overtaking computers and tablets. Young people are the most likely to do so: by age group, the average number of hours that young people between the ages of 16 and 24 spend watching videos on their phones amounts to 2.8 hours on average during the workday and 3.4 hours on weekends.

Young people are mobile
Smartphones have become the primary device in users' hands, and are increasingly being used for a variety of purposes. Eighty-six percent of young people own a smartphone and use it as their go-to device for instant messaging (81.7%), accessing social media (77.5%), listening to music (65.2%), and streaming videos (52.2%).

What's more, according to the Global Web Index, by 2018, 50% of young special lead people are expected to be mobile-first , meaning they will spend 90% to 100% of their online time on a mobile screen.

More and more apps (and less fidelity)
Users use an average of 30 apps per month to manage the dozen tasks they perform each month, and more than nine apps per day.

Churn is high: 70% of smartphone users install at least one app per month, and in general, most users continue to look for new apps to add to their arsenal, especially in the areas of travel, entertainment, local information, and online shopping.
